What the world needs now is love
by Ed Lewis
These are the opening words (and title) of one of my all time favorite songs. I cannot for the life of me at this moment remember, though, the artist that sang it, or even the decade it was popular. I keep thinking Dusty Springfield although I do not think it is so. But, this I do know - man has not spoken truer words.
Is it what we will get under the likes of Bush and all those like Bush, who care not about other human beings and their lives?
Is it what we will get with a Congress full of people who are self-serving to themselves and their political parties, who lack beliefs and values that should parallel the beliefs and values of the American people?
Is it what we will get with justices/judges who do not care about justice, but instead strive to establish the injustice of denying people - living souls - their rights ordained by God and written in our most important documents that established this union of states as the most envied country on Earth?
The answer to each of these is “no.”
What we will get is what we have gotten - hate and inhumanity; death and property destruction; forced servitude and destruction of free will; and the shredding of God’s laws. The supreme Law of the Land - created to protect the liberty of the individual from despots pursuant to the Unanimous Declaration of Independence of the Thirteen Colonies - will continue to be completely ignored for the profit by the few.
Such is our destiny, unless and until we people on Earth change the appalling actions of governments that know not a thing about humanity and the spiritualism that is a part of every society, whether it is the same spiritually based beliefs or not.
Changes in society that oppress beliefs are not really changes at all - they are forced and are tyrannical measures meant to control, rather than such control coming from within the people. Until the control comes from within, there is no true control - it is a myth that serves only the wicked and the decadent that would kill to suppress thoughts of individuality and the self-actualization of the people living on this tiny planet.
There is in reality absolutely no sense in a small group treating other people as animals beneath them, of using torture, coercion of all forms, including threats of death and destruction. It is pure evil that directs these people, not compassionate conservatism or the quest for liberty, an impossibility in any “democracy.”
The quest for democracy is an affront against human rights to begin with. It is as tyrannical as any dictator has ever been - such is just hidden by the supposedly “will of the majority,” when the majority has not the right to will anything on any human being.
When you hear such, what you are really hearing is the quest for complete control of people by the few who control polls, voting, who is “running” for an office, and - to put it simply - a government that wants to be sovereign over the people. The people in the minds of the oppressors are nothing more than human “resources” or “animals” to be used at their will.
There is no government - including the US Government Corporation - that is concerned about drug use, crime, terrorism, or “for the children,” except as needed to manipulate the thinking of the people they control or want to control. And, of course, for their own profit. All are myths created to instill fear and install controls - power - over people that do not in reality exist, except by force.
Force is an exercise in hate when it comes from the very people given the awesome and sacred authority to guard against all encroachments on human rights and on the very concept of being humane and caring. How else can so-called “leaders” of countries order the deaths of thousands when the thousands have done no harm to other people? It damn sure isn’t love of mankind and altruistic intents that guide their slaughtering of people and the destruction/theft of property.
Force generates hate, and hate begets hate just as violence begets violence. You need not wonder why Iraqis fight back. Wouldn’t you hate a country that was killing the innocent people of your country for want of its natural resources and other purely selfish reasons?
Thus, US Government actions controlled by the elite of this and other countries, such as England, have brought on additional hate by not only Iraqis, but also the people of many other countries. The world, including many Americans, has grown sick and tired of the US Government and its corrupted allies, whether US Government allied corporations or other governments, that use force and weapons of mass destruction against people to force compliance to their dictates.
Such force and hate, People, will be the downfall of America.
That is - if it hasn’t already been so.
Either way, what the world needs now - is love.
Addendum: I looked up the song, “What The World Needs Now - Is Love.” It was recorded by Jackie DeShannon, with words and music by Burt Bacharach and Hal David
