Editor announces run for LNC

R. Lee Wrights(May 18) WINSTON-SALEM - R. Lee Wrights, editor of Liberty For All, announced today that he would seek an at-large seat on the Libertarian Party National Committee (LNC) at the party’s national convention in Indianapolis the first week in July.  Mr. Wrights becomes the sixth candidate to enter a race that only has five positions available.

The other candidates that have declared their intentions to seek one of the five at-large positions on the LNC are Richard Freedman from Massachusetts, Don Gorman from New Hampshire, Austin Hough from Illinois, Bette Rose Ryan from Colorado, and, Starchild from California.

Mr. Wrights is from North Carolina where he is a stay-at-home dad, writer, editor, political activist, and football fanatic.  He has been married for twenty-two years and has two daughters, ages twenty-one and six.  He raises Bonsai trees in his spare time and enjoys reading history.

Libertarians Nominate Record Number of Candidates

Libertarian PartyDURHAM (May 6) — North Carolina’s Libertarian Party nominated a record 58 candidates for office at their annual state convention held May 4-5 in Clemmons. Sean Haugh was nominated for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Republican Jesse Helms.

“North Carolina deserves a U.S. Senator who’ll represent the people, not Washington insiders,” said Haugh. “We need someone who will seek to return liberty to the people of this great state and this great nation.”

After working 117 days to pay taxes, April 27 is Paycheck Emancipation Day

Libertarian PartyWASHINGTON, DC — On Saturday, America tells the federal government: “Show me my money!”

Because on Saturday, April 27, the average American stops working to pay taxes and starts working for himself or herself.

That’s according to the Tax Foundation, a non-profit Washington, DC research group, which has designated April 27 as Tax Freedom Day. After laboring 117 days to pay federal, state, and local taxes, average Americans are finally allowed to keep the money they’ve earned.
